Zelenskyy: More Than Half of Missiles Launched by Russia in Past Week Were Ballistic

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has reported that Russian forces used nearly 1,700 drones, more than 1,630 aerial bombs, and 95 missiles of various types against Ukraine over the past week, more than half of which were ballistic.

Zelenskyy emphasized that every day they work with partners to ensure Ukrainian warriors have the means to counter these attacks. "We must undercut Russia's gamble on ballistic terror. That is why it is so important that deliveries of anti-ballistic defence packages arrive on time. Every interceptor missile right now is literally helping save lives if it is here, in Ukrainian systems, not in our partners' warehouses," the president said.

Zelenskyy also spoke about the latest Russian strike. A drone attack on residential buildings in Kharkiv killed one person and injured nine, including two children. He expressed condolences to their families.

He noted that State Emergency Service units continue to extinguish a fire at a home improvement store in Kryvyi Rih. Overall, last night Russia launched 8 missiles and 136 drones of various types against Ukraine. Many were shot down, but unfortunately not all. The Kherson, Donetsk, Dnipro, Kharkiv, Sumy, Odesa, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Chernihiv regions, as well as Kyiv, came under attack. The capital was struck by ballistic missiles, injuring three people.
