New Import Fee for Low-Value Shipments from Third Countries

Starting now, a fee of 3 euros per product category is applied to low-value shipments from non-EU countries, payable at checkout.

A new import fee has been introduced for shipments worth up to 150 euros arriving from countries outside the European Union. Previously, customs duties were only charged on more expensive items, but now even low-value purchases are subject to a flat fee per product category.

The fee is set at 3 euros per category. For example, ordering three pairs of pants results in a single 3-euro fee, while a pair of pants, a grass trimmer, and a soup ladle—each belonging to a different category—would incur a total of 9 euros.

Importantly, the fee does not apply to gifts sent between private individuals. Additionally, if goods are shipped from a warehouse within the EU, even if the online store is based in a third country, no extra charge is levied.

The fee is collected at the time of purchase: the online store, in cooperation with Omniva, handles customs clearance and payment on behalf of the customer. No further steps are needed from the buyer. However, the fee is non-refundable, even if the item is returned and the purchase price is refunded.
