Landslide in China: Dozens Buried, Ten Rescued
A massive landslide in China's Pengshui area has buried over ten residential buildings, with rescue teams saving ten people so far.

A large landslide struck Pengshui area, east of Chongqing city in China, on Wednesday, burying more than ten residential houses. Several people remain trapped under the debris. Rescuers have managed to pull out ten survivors. Local residents had noticed rocks falling from the mountain shortly before the disaster. The landslide occurred just as the evacuation of 60 people was underway. Hundreds of emergency workers, including specially trained rescue teams, have been dispatched to the site. The landslide toppled three power poles, cutting electricity supply to the area. Landslides are common in China, especially during the rainy summer months. This tragedy follows a similar incident last week in Gansu province near Longnan city, where 21 people lost their lives.
