Zemgale region foal show held at 'Mušķi' equestrian training centre

How the foals were judged
The show featured foals born this year, presented together with their mothers. Judges assessed not only the animals' appearance but also their gait — walk, trot and canter — along with breed typicity and other characteristics. 'Mušķi' director Laima Lībere described the event, noting that its purpose is to promote horse breeding and the Latvian horse breed while recognizing breeders' work and the potential of the young horses.
A unified team image
According to the show's guidelines, the overall visual impression mattered as well — participants made sure both the horses and their owners were dressed in coordinated color schemes, presenting a unified team look. Lībere said it was a pleasure to see the new generation of horses in the arena and to feel the sense of community among horse breeders.
