The football federations of three Nordic countries — Finland, Denmark and Sweden — have contacted European Union Sports Commissioner Glenn Micallef, expressing concerns about the governance of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA).

The letter to the commissioner was signed by the presidents of all three national football federations. In it, they requested a meeting with Micallef to discuss in greater detail their concerns regarding how FIFA is currently managed and how decisions are made within the organization.

The report does not specify exactly which aspects of FIFA's governance have prompted the Nordic federations' concerns. However, the move suggests the federations consider the matter significant enough to raise it at the EU level. The involvement of the EU's sports commissioner in this issue could point to a broader discussion about governance standards and accountability within international sports organizations.
