Court Adjourns Case of Security Guard Accused of Spying for Russia in Ziepniekkalns Store
The Riga City Court has postponed the trial of security guard Igor Andrejevs, charged with gathering intelligence in Latvia and passing it to Russian special services via the pro-Kremlin criminal organization 'Baltic Antifascists'.
The Riga City Court has adjourned the criminal case of security guard Igor Andrejevs until September 9 at 9:00 AM. The defendant is accused of collecting intelligence in Latvia and transmitting it to Russian special services through the pro-Kremlin criminal organization “Baltic Antifascists”.
The postponement was granted to allow the accused to sign a contract with a defense lawyer. The next court hearing is scheduled for early September.
Andrejevs worked as a security guard at a store in the Ziepniekkalns neighborhood. According to the indictment, he gathered information of interest to Russian intelligence and passed it on using the “Baltic Antifascists” as an intermediary.
