President Donald Trump called Graham a "family member" and said he is deeply saddened by his death. Trump revealed that the senator called him on Saturday evening after returning from Ukraine, sounding "a little tired but perfectly normal."
Lindsey Graham, who represented South Carolina in the US Senate for many years, died on Saturday, July 11. The day before, on July 10, he was on a visit to Ukraine, where he met with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and House Foreign Affairs Committee Honorary Chairman Michael McCaul. Earlier that day, Graham announced an agreement with the White House on a version of a sanctions bill against Russia. He also visited the production facility of defense company SkyFall, which manufactures various models of drones.
