LTV news anchor Laura Vonda linked to boyfriend's ongoing divorce

Magazine "Kas Jauns" reports that Latvian Television news anchor Laura Vonda, host of "Panorāma," has become entangled in the divorce drama of her new partner. According to the magazine, rumors have circulated for some time that Vonda is romantically involved with Jānis Matēvičs, who heads the Cybersecurity Maintenance Department at LMT. Neither Vonda nor Matēvičs has publicly commented on the relationship.

Vonda has been single since spring 2025, when it became publicly known that her marriage to LTV news camera operator Ivans Milovs had ended after 12 years together. The couple married in 2012 after meeting at work, when Vonda joined the LTV news department; they have two children together. Vonda, daughter of former Criminal Police chief Jānis Vonda, previously said in an interview that her relationship with Milovs began as a workplace romance, adding that meeting a partner at work seemed more normal to her than in a nightclub.

Ties to Matēvičs's estranged wife

According to the magazine, Matēvičs has not yet formally divorced his wife, Larisa Matēviča, with whom he has three children. Friends of Larisa, who asked to remain anonymous, contacted the "Kas Jauns" newsroom to say they are supporting her through this difficult period. Larisa herself confirmed to the magazine that she has not lived with her husband for several months — he left their shared family home just days before Christmas last year and began a new relationship.
