Zhytomyr loses all power after Russian attack on energy infrastructure
The Ukrainian city of Zhytomyr lost electricity entirely on 3 November after a Russian attack on energy infrastructure. City authorities say that if power is not restored by morning, "invincibility points" will open on 4 November.

Electricity went out completely on 3 November in Zhytomyr, a city in north-western Ukraine and the centre of the Zhytomyr region. The city council says the cause is a Russian attack on energy infrastructure. Energy facilities in Ukraine have repeatedly come under fire during the war, and such outages affect residents' daily lives.
According to the council, if supply is not restored by morning, so-called invincibility points will be set up across the Zhytomyr community from 09:00 on 4 November. These are places where residents can get assistance during power cuts.
Journalists from the public broadcaster Suspilne report that not only the city itself but also some districts of the region were left without electricity. The sources do not provide details on the extent of the damage or when power might return.
Situation in Kyiv
Earlier, from the evening of 3 November, tram and trolleybus services were temporarily suspended in the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv. The reason is a critical situation in the power system caused by Russian shelling.
