Žižins reaches second qualifying round of English Open

Latvian snooker player Artemijs Žižins achieved success on Saturday in the qualifying rounds of the English Open, reaching the second round. Ranked 105th in the world, he defeated Englishman Alfie Burden, ranked 114th, with a score of 4-1 in the first qualifying round.
In the second round, Žižins will face another English player, Martin O'Donnell, who is ranked 53rd in the world. The main tournament of the English Open will take place in September.
Žižins has already secured his participation in World Snooker Tour events for the 2026/27 and 2027/28 seasons, highlighting his consistent performance and progress in the sport.
