Agency urges checking medicine availability in register before pharmacy visit
The State Agency of Medicines is calling on residents to check the availability of their medicines in the Medicines Register before going to a pharmacy, especially for uncommon or specific products.

The State Agency of Medicines (ZVA) is calling on residents to check the availability of the medicines they need in the Medicines Register before going to a pharmacy. The agency particularly recommends doing this when a person requires less common or specific medicines. Such an advance check can help people understand whether the medicine is likely to be in stock, avoiding unnecessary trips.
The agency made the call through LETA, drawing attention to the importance of using the register as a source of up-to-date information. While everyday medicines are usually easy to find in pharmacies, the situation may be different for more specific products. For this reason, ZVA encourages patients not to assume anything but to take a look at the register before they leave home.
The recommendation applies to all residents who use medicines, especially those with unusual or narrowly prescribed treatments. By checking the register, patients can have a clearer idea of where to go and what to expect. ZVA stresses that this kind of verification is simple and can save time. The agency hopes that more people will use the register as a practical tool when planning their next pharmacy visit.
