Swedish contest offers three free nights by the sea — if you can stay quiet
Sweden's tourism body "Visit Skåne" is running a contest where two winners get three free nights in a remote cabin by the Baltic Sea, with one unusual rule: guests must keep noise levels down.

Sweden's tourism organization "Visit Skåne" is holding a contest offering two winners three nights, completely free of charge, in a secluded cabin on the eastern coast of Skåne by the Baltic Sea. Accommodation, food and travel to the destination are all covered, and guests are also offered e-bikes, hikes in Stenshuvud National Park, hammocks to relax in, and local food by a campfire.
The quiet rule
The cabin is called "Stay Quiet," reflecting its unusual condition: noise levels are monitored around the clock. Conversations are not recorded, but a device tracks the surrounding sound level. If noise repeatedly exceeds 45 decibels, guests first receive a warning — and if it doesn't die down, they must leave the cabin the following morning.
Absolute silence isn't required, though. Talking is allowed, but quietly, roughly at library volume. Loud music, loud phone calls and parties are not part of this getaway.
How to apply
The contest targets people wanting to escape daily noise, phone calls, traffic and constant information overload for a few days. To enter, applicants must send a video to the Instagram account @visit_skane by 8:00 PM on September 6, explaining who they are, who will join them, and why they specifically need this kind of "silence therapy."
The trip is planned for late September or early October 2026. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and must travel in pairs — with a partner, friend, sibling or other family member. Children and pets are not allowed, participants need sufficient English skills, and they must be ready to go without a smartphone for several days.
