On July 4, the Union of Greens and Farmers (ZZS) submitted its candidate lists to the Central Election Commission for the autumn Saeima elections. The lists are headed by many of the party's most prominent current politicians, including sitting ministers and members of parliament, signaling ZZS's aim to maintain influence in the next parliament.
Among the new candidates, Henriks Danusēvičs, president of the Latvian Traders Association, stands out, highlighting the party's efforts to attract business community representatives. Additionally, the list includes former Interior Minister Sandis Ģirģens, who previously represented the party "KPV LV". Ģirģens has prior government experience and has now joined ZZS.
ZZS made its candidate selection through internal party procedures, and the lists will now be registered for official participation in the elections. Analysts note that ZZS aims to strengthen its position in the political landscape by combining experienced politicians with new members from various societal sectors.
