13th Trip to Ukraine: Getting Lost, Mistakes, and Polish Support
A journalist on his 13th journey with the Twitter convoy to Ukraine recounts getting lost, accidentally entering the wrong car, and the timely help from Polish locals that allowed him to cross the border with the group.

A Latvian journalist joined the 227th Twitter convoy to Ukraine in early June, his 13th trip delivering aid. The journey had its share of incidents. Near Łomża, Poland, he got lost, but convoy leader Urzula Neimane advised reloading the navigation – it worked.
Near Lublin, traffic came to a halt due to a truck accident. A Ukrainian truck driver explained the jam would last hours. The journalist tried bypassing via the grass median but found no detour. Exhausted, he stopped at a toilet and left the keys in the ignition. He nearly entered a similar car belonging to a Polish cleaning lady, whose doors were unlocked. He realized his mistake in time.
Polish locals proved helpful: one showed a narrow local road to bypass the jam, another clarified the route. At the last moment, the journalist rejoined the convoy, which crossed the Poland–Ukraine border without queuing. The car was handed over to a municipality in Chernihiv Oblast.
The article mentions that Polish President Karol Nawrocki revoked the Order of the White Eagle awarded to Ukraine's president, and many Ukrainian VIPs refused orders. Also, Russian cartoonist Semyon Skrepecky was shot in Poland, and a suspect was detained.
The Twitter convoy was launched by Reinis Pozņaks after Russia's 2022 invasion. Over 3,000 cars have been delivered in 228 convoys so far.
