2023 world vice-champion Edgars Nemme ends his bobsleigh career
Edgars Nemme, a Latvian bobsleigh pusher and 2023 four-man world vice-champion, is ending his athletic career, Latvian Television reports.

Latvian bobsledder Edgars Nemme, who became a world vice-champion in the four-man event in 2023, has decided not to continue his career, according to Latvian Television. Nemme competed as a pusher in Latvia's bobsleigh crews.
Path into the sport
Nemme, who is now 30, took up bobsleigh eight years ago. Before that, he played volleyball.
Main achievements
In 2023, he won the world championship silver medal, and thus the vice-champion title, in a four-man crew led by Emīls Cipulis, who is now head coach of the national team.
A year earlier, in 2022, he took his only World Cup victory to date as part of Oskars Ķibermanis's four-man crew. That race also served as the European Championship for that season.
Olympic Games
At the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, Nemme competed in the two-man event with Cipulis's crew and in the four-man event with Ķibermanis's crew. He was also part of the Latvian team at this year's Olympic Games but did not compete there.
