93-Year-Old Scottish Fan Moira Brown to Cheer for Scotland in World Cup
Moira Brown, possibly the oldest member of Scotland's Tartan Army, will attend the World Cup match against Haiti in Boston at age 93.
Moira Brown, believed to be the oldest member of Scotland's Tartan Army of soccer fans, is set to travel to Boston for Scotland's World Cup match against Haiti on June 13.
At 93 years old, Brown considers herself the luckiest person in the world to finally see Scotland play in the World Cup in person. She has waited decades for this moment – Scotland last qualified for the World Cup in 1998, but Brown never lost hope.
“I'm the luckiest person in this world,” Brown says, describing her excitement to be in Boston. She adds that age is just a number and this opportunity means everything to her.
Scotland will face Haiti at Gillette Stadium, and Brown will be among the many Tartan Army supporters traveling from around the globe. While the title of oldest fan is unofficial, Brown is likely one of the most seasoned supporters following the team.
