ABC News has officially introduced Searched, a livestreamed news program built around stories that people are actively discussing on social media and searching for online. Although the network only formally announced the show now, it has actually been airing since April on the ABC News Live streaming channel, which is available on both Disney Plus and Hulu.

According to ABC News' press release, Searched draws real-time data from top search engines and social media platforms to surface topical news for viewers. A recent episode, for example, covered an Illinois Powerball lottery winner, NBA star Russell Westbrook's retirement, and Tropical Storm Lala. Past episodes can be found on ABC News' YouTube channel.

The streaming-exclusive show arrives as traditional broadcast TV viewership continues to decline, with more people turning to social media for news instead. The half-hour program is hosted by ABC News correspondents Gio Benitez and Ashan Singh, with new episodes airing every weekday.

Searched is one of several new programs joining the ABC News Live lineup. Others include All Access with Linsey Davis, featuring interviews with celebrities, politicians, athletes, and influencers; Burden of Proof, focused on widely discussed court trials; and Doctor's Note, which highlights medical facts and health trends.

The launch reflects a broader industry shift as streaming services increasingly add live programming, including sports, to their offerings. Separately, Disney Plus is reportedly exploring a free streaming tier, an idea Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos has said his company will "continue to consider."
