A Solid Deal in a Pricey Market
With memory and storage prices driving up the cost of everything from consoles to computers, finding a competent laptop under $1,000 has become a challenge. Fortunately, the Acer Swift Go 16 AI is on sale for $899.99 at Best Buy, a steep discount from its usual $1,549.99 price tag.
This well-equipped laptop packs an Intel Core Ultra 7 355 processor, 32GB of LPDDR5X memory, and a 1TB SSD. Its 16-inch OLED touchscreen (1,920 x 1,200) is excellent, with a 16:10 aspect ratio that shows more content vertically. The 180-degree hinge lets you adjust the screen to your preferred viewing angle.
The generously sized multi-touch touchpad is topped with Corning Gorilla Glass, and the backlit keyboard even includes a numpad. While the integrated Intel graphics aren't great for serious gaming, they handle games like Balatro fine, and the system can run for over 20 hours on a single charge depending on brightness. Port selection is generous for a slim laptop: two USB-A 3.2, two USB-C with Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.1, a microSD card slot, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
