Invited to an expedition to Pilssala to meet wild horses
On July 25 at 1 p.m., the expedition "With Winds in Manes" will take place on Pilssala, where participants will hike and learn about the wild horses living there.

The Jelgava Regional Tourism Centre (JRTC) invites those interested to the expedition "With Winds in Manes" on July 25 at 1 p.m. on Pilssala. The event will be led by wild horse keeper and environmental guide Einārs Nordmanis.
Participants will go on an approximately three-hour hike through the floodplain meadows of the Lielupe River. During the expedition, they will have the opportunity to see the wild horses inhabiting the island and learn about their lives – for example, why this particular breed was chosen for the island, what hierarchy exists among the horse families, and what mischief they sometimes get into.
The Lielupe floodplain meadows have been designated as a Natura 2000 site of European importance due to its significant diversity of plants and birds. During the hike, participants can also learn more about the plants and other natural values found in the meadows.
Registration is required as the number of participants is limited. JRTC encourages interested individuals to sign up in advance to secure their spot.
