airBaltic to Return Two Airbus A220-300 Aircraft Early
Latvian airline airBaltic has reached a mutual agreement with a lessor to return two aircraft at the end of June, citing fleet optimization.

Latvian national airline airBaltic has reached a mutual agreement with one of its aircraft lessors to return two Airbus A220-300 aircraft ahead of schedule. The return will take place at the end of June this year, as confirmed by company representative Augusts Zilberts.
The company explained that the decision was made to optimize the fleet composition and adapt to changing market conditions. It emphasized that the change would not significantly affect scheduled flights, as airBaltic will continue to operate its full flight schedule.
Earlier reports showed that airBaltic achieved record first-quarter revenue of €149.1 million, up 12.3% year-on-year. However, the airline's losses increased to €70.1 million, compared to €29.3 million in the same period last year.
The airline continues to focus on cost reduction and efficiency improvements, and the early return of the aircraft is part of these measures.
