Amazon Fire HD 10 Tablet Gets a Refresh with More RAM

Amazon has surprised customers with a refresh of its mid-range Fire HD 10 tablet, primarily increasing the amount of RAM. The new model features 4GB of RAM, up from 3GB in the previous version. The older model had 3GB for years, and originally launched with 2GB back in 2017.

Other specifications remain the same. The tablet still sports a 2GHz octa-core processor, a 10.1-inch FHD touchscreen, and a battery that lasts around 13 hours. However, charging time has improved, now taking four hours instead of five.

There are some caveats. The new Fire HD 10 is only available with 32GB of storage, whereas older models came in both 32GB and 64GB variants. Amazon has been asked whether it plans to offer a 64GB model in the future. Additionally, the price has increased to $155, which is about $15 more than the previous generation.

Another notable point is that the tablet can only be purchased with lock screen ads; there is no ad-free option. This device is not exactly a budget tablet, but it lacks the power for intensive creative applications. It is well-suited for watching content, such as in bed, and is durable enough to be safe around children.
