England v Mexico set to move to earlier kick-off time
England's match against Mexico at the Estadio Azteca has been moved from early evening to midday, increasing the temperature challenge for players in high-altitude conditions.

England's football match against Mexico on Sunday has been moved to an earlier kick-off time, presenting additional challenges for the players. Originally scheduled for early evening with temperatures around 20°C, the fixture will now take place at midday, when the mercury is expected to reach 26°C.
The match will be held at the iconic Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, situated 7,220 feet (2,240 metres) above sea level. Mexico have lost only twice in 89 matches at this stadium, highlighting their strong record in these conditions. At such altitude, the air is thinner, reducing oxygen intake into the bloodstream, which can lead to increased heart rate, shortness of breath, dehydration, and quicker fatigue.
England winger Marcus Rashford, speaking after Friday's training session, acknowledged that the change is "not ideal" but the squad will cope. "We have to be ready for anything. It's one of our strengths as a group," he said. Rashford emphasised that the preparation process must remain the same regardless of circumstances.
The adjustment means players will have to contend not only with altitude but also higher temperatures, making physical exertion even more demanding.
