Anthropic's annualized revenue climbs to $65 billion
AI company Anthropic's annualized revenue run rate topped $65 billion by the end of July, Bloomberg reported, as the firm prepares for a possible IPO seeking a valuation above $2 trillion.

Anthropic, the maker of AI language models, continues to post historically fast revenue growth that is still accelerating. According to a Bloomberg report published Monday, the company's annualized revenue run rate — a projection of full-year revenue based on a recent, shorter period — surpassed $65 billion at the end of July. That figure was up from $47 billion in May and just $9 billion at the end of last year. Anthropic did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the report.
According to the Financial Times, the company's investors expect the growth rate to hold roughly steady for the rest of the year, which would put Anthropic's full-year 2026 revenue between $100 billion and $120 billion.
Competition with OpenAI
Rival OpenAI has also grown quickly, doubling its revenue to $40 billion from $20 billion at the end of 2025, Bloomberg reported last week. The two companies may calculate their revenue figures differently, but investors have been more captivated by Anthropic's pace of growth than by OpenAI's.
IPO preparations
Both companies have filed confidential paperwork for initial public offerings. Anthropic is expected to reach public markets before OpenAI, possibly as early as this fall. Per the Financial Times, Anthropic will seek a public valuation of $2 trillion or more, which would make it the largest market debut on record.
Anthropic was last valued at $965 billion in late May, when it raised a $65 billion funding round.
