Apple Music Gets a New Logo and Sound Identity
Apple has officially unveiled a rebrand of its Apple Music streaming service, with a new logo, an updated wordmark and a new sound. The new look is expected to reach platforms this week.
Apple, the American technology company, today officially announced a rebrand of its music streaming service, Apple Music. The company presented a new logo, an updated wordmark and a new sound that will form part of the service's identity. The changes will affect everyone who uses Apple Music on their devices.
The revised wordmark had already appeared in a video, and the updated app icon showed up in an iOS 27.2 beta. Apple has now confirmed the changes officially.
Sound as the basis for the visuals
The new sound was composed by British producer Fred Again together with Nest Acoustics. In a video the company published, Apple says that for the rebrand it wanted sound to create the visuals. The clip shows the music note logo and the wordmark underwater, and demonstrates how the water responds to sound and distorts both elements.
When the changes will appear
According to Wallpaper, the new look is expected to roll out across platforms this week. The Verge suggests this means it will be included in the final iOS 27.2 release. The release candidate of that update, which usually comes just before the public launch, was issued this week.
Apple has not provided further details on how the new identity will affect the way the service works.
