Apple Music and Apple One Subscriptions Get More Expensive for the First Time in Years
Apple has raised prices for Apple Music and Apple One subscriptions, citing rising licensing costs. The increase affects individual, family, and student plans, as well as the Apple One family and premium bundles.

Apple has increased the cost of Apple Music and Apple One subscriptions for the first time since 2022, blaming rising licensing costs for the change.
According to Apple's updated pricing page, an individual Apple Music subscription has risen from $11 per month to $12. The family plan has gone from $17 to $20 per month, and the student subscription has increased from $6 to $7 per month.
As for Apple One, the individual bundle stays at $20 per month, but both the family and premium tiers have gone up by $2, now costing $28 and $40 per month, respectively. Individual and family Apple One plans include Apple Music, Apple TV, Apple Arcade, and varying amounts of iCloud storage. The premium plan adds Apple News+, Apple Fitness+, and more storage.
The price hikes come at a challenging time, as the RAM shortage has made nearly all electronics more expensive, and Apple recently raised prices on most of its computers, smartphones, tablets, and wearables in June. Engadget has contacted Apple for more details about the increases and the licensing justification.
