Fairness of Song and Dance Festival Concept Competitions Questioned
Procurement Monitoring Bureau received complaints about LNKC's competitions for the concept of the upcoming Dance Festival's grand show and wind orchestra concert, citing potential conflict of interest in the jury. LNKC denies the allegations.

The Procurement Monitoring Bureau has received complaints regarding the competitions organized by the Latvian National Cultural Centre (LNKC) for the concepts of the next Dance Festival's grand show and the wind orchestra concert. The complainants allege that some jury members may have had a conflict of interest when evaluating the submitted proposals.
The National Cultural Centre firmly denies these accusations. The centre emphasizes that the jury was composed of industry professionals and that its members had no access to information about which artistic teams were behind the anonymous proposals. Therefore, LNKC believes the competition was conducted fairly and transparently.
The complaints will be reviewed by the Procurement Monitoring Bureau, which will decide on further action. At present, it is unclear whether these complaints could affect the competition results or the organization of the upcoming festivals.
