Survey: Half of Latvians believe a growing business can be built in rural areas
According to a survey by Altum and Norstat, 50% of Latvian residents think people in the countryside can do more than merely get by and can develop a growing business.

Half of Latvia's residents, or 50%, believe that in rural areas it is possible not only to get by but also to develop a growing business. This follows from a survey carried out by the development finance institution Altum and the research company Norstat.
How the survey was conducted
The poll was held online in September. It covered 1,001 Latvian residents aged 18 to 74.
What it means
The result shows that exactly half of respondents see business development in the countryside as a real possibility rather than just a means of subsistence. The source gives no further data on the views of the remaining respondents or on differences between population groups.
