US authorities arrested controversial social media personalities and brothers Andrew (39) and Tristan Tate (38) in Miami on Saturday. The arrest was carried out at the request of the UK Crown Prosecution Service, which has issued a new warrant over serious crimes.

The UK prosecution announced 38 new charges against the brothers, bringing the total to 59. Andrew Tate faces an additional seven counts of rape, three counts of organizing or facilitating human trafficking for sexual exploitation, three counts of causing bodily harm, and 19 charges related to child pornography and other pornographic material. Tristan Tate is charged with one count of sexual assault, two counts of rape, and three counts of human trafficking.

The charges relate to alleged crimes committed between 2010 and 2017, involving a total of seven victims. The UK has formally requested the brothers' extradition from the US.

The brothers' lawyer, Joseph McBride, dismissed the charges as politically motivated, asserting their innocence. The Tates consistently deny all allegations. Separately, they remain involved in legal proceedings in Romania, where they reside, and the UK had previously obtained a European arrest warrant for their extradition after the Romanian case concludes.
