US military: 55 commercial vessels passed through Strait of Hormuz despite Iran's closure claims
US Central Command reported that on June 20, 55 commercial vessels transited the Strait of Hormuz, maintaining uninterrupted flow despite Iranian claims of closure.

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) has announced that, contrary to Iranian assertions, the Strait of Hormuz remains open to navigation. On Saturday, June 20, 55 commercial vessels passed through this strategically vital waterway, delivering large volumes of cargo and over 17 million barrels of oil to global markets.
CENTCOM stated on social media that commercial vessel traffic intensity in the strait increased as US forces continued operations to ensure freedom of navigation. The statement emphasized that the movement of ships through the Strait of Hormuz has remained uninterrupted.
This announcement comes after Iran's military leadership declared on Saturday that the strait had been closed again, accusing the US of violating an agreement. Iran regularly threatens to close the strait, a critical energy transit chokepoint, but has not yet carried out these threats. The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world's most important oil transit routes, handling about one-fifth of global oil shipments.
