US launches new airstrikes on Iran; at least one killed
The US military conducted new airstrikes on Iranian cities along the Strait of Hormuz, killing at least one person and causing widespread power outages.

The United States has intensified its military operations against Iran, carrying out fresh airstrikes on July 9 targeting several cities along the strategic Strait of Hormuz. Explosions were reported in Bushehr, Chabahar, Bandar Abbas, Sirik, Jask, and Abu Musa Island.
At least one person was killed in the city of Iranshahr as a result of the strikes, while Chabahar experienced widespread power outages affecting residents and infrastructure.
This marks the latest escalation in the US military campaign against Iran, which has been ongoing for several weeks. The attacks focus on strategically important locations near the Strait of Hormuz, a vital oil transit chokepoint. It remains unclear whether the strikes involved aircraft or missiles.
Iranian officials have not yet issued an official response, but local media report destroyed buildings and civilian casualties. The international community continues to call for peaceful dialogue, though tensions in the region remain high.
