US man claiming world's smallest penis books surgery after public's help

A US man who claims to have the world's smallest penis says he has booked a procedure to enlarge it after receiving public financial support. Michael Phillips, 38, from South Carolina, expressed surprise and gratitude in a Saturday interview for the GoFundMe donors who funded his campaign.

His "Help Michael Get Micropenis Enlargement Procedure" campaign launched on June 25 had raised nearly $13,000 from over 250 donors by Saturday afternoon. Phillips previously explained that the surgery aims to relieve urinary issues caused by his condition—his penis measures only 0.38 inches (0.97 cm) when fully erect.

After media coverage of his plight and fundraising, prominent Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr. Robert Dorman publicly offered to perform the procedure for free. A spokesperson said Friday that Dorman was moved by Phillips' quality-of-life struggles. However, Phillips said he has already booked the surgery at a facility closer to home, declining the free offer.

Phillips advocates for those with micropenis, arguing against body shaming. He has said his diagnosis makes penetrative intimacy impossible and causes severe difficulty urinating because urine "goes everywhere."

Skeptics online have questioned his story, but Phillips says he proved his condition to a British TV show before appearing. He also acknowledged sending pictures of his genitals to others, including a woman who made a viral video calling it "by far the smallest one I'd ever seen."
