Renovated Operating Block Opened at Riga Maternity House
A renovated operating block costing 2.5 million euros has been opened at the Riga Maternity House, which had not undergone reconstruction for over 20 years. The project was co-financed by the European Union, providing modern facilities and medical technologies.

On Wednesday, June 17, the renovated operating block at the Riga Maternity House was officially opened. The reconstruction, which lasted several months, cost 2.5 million euros and was co-financed by the European Union. The renovation was particularly significant as the operating block had not seen any major reconstruction for more than 20 years.
As a result of the renovation, the operating block's premises have become more spacious and modern. New operating lamps and tables were purchased, and the latest medical technologies were installed, meeting the so-called gold standard in obstetrics. Hospital management emphasized that this investment will improve the quality of patient care as well as working conditions for medical staff.
The opening ceremony was attended by health sector representatives and project implementers. The new operating block has already been put into operation and has started working.
