Audi reveals more details about A2 e-tron: promises its most efficient EV yet
Audi has released initial specifications of the upcoming A2 e-tron ahead of its autumn debut. The company says the model will be its most efficient electric car, with WLTP consumption of 12.8 kWh/100 km for the 140 kW version.

Audi is gradually sharing information about its forthcoming A2 e-tron, with the official premiere scheduled for later this year. The carmaker says the model will be the most efficient electric vehicle it has ever produced.
According to Audi's website, the efficiency comes from improved drive technology, refined aerodynamics and a battery designed for everyday use. The 140 kW version is expected to consume just 12.8 kWh per 100 kilometres in the WLTP cycle, which is lower than the closely related Volkswagen ID.3 Neo.
Several technical features contribute to the low consumption. For the first time, the car will use silicon carbide inverters, alongside a revised electric motor, an optimised transmission and an upgraded cooling system. Aerodynamics also play a key role: the drag coefficient is only 0.24, placing the A2 e-tron among the most aerodynamically efficient models in its segment. The reshaped body and cooling layout help cut both energy use and charging losses.
The A2 e-tron is based on the Volkswagen ID.3 Neo platform and will be offered with four power outputs ranging from 125 kW to 240 kW. Buyers will be able to choose between 50, 58 and 79 kWh battery packs. The long-range version, fitted with a 170 kW motor and the 79 kWh battery, is due to cover up to 649 kilometres on the WLTP cycle. Maximum DC fast-charging rate will reach 183 kW.
In Germany, the starting price is 38,200 euros, which is higher than the Volkswagen ID.3 Neo, priced from 33,140 euros in Latvia. Audi says the premium is justified by a more extensive standard equipment list. Deliveries to customers are promised to begin later this year.
