Australia pledges another $70 million to Ukraine: 'What happens in Ukraine matters in Indo-Pacific'

Australia has announced a new $70 million aid package for Ukraine.

As stated in the official announcement: “What happens in Ukraine matters in Indo-Pacific.” The funding will be delivered in two equal installments of $35 million over the next 12 months through the PURL initiative.

The PURL initiative is a dedicated mechanism for channelling assistance to Ukraine. The first tranche is expected to be disbursed shortly, with the second following after six months. This commitment underscores Australia’s continued support for Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression.
