Avalanche Trade Colton and Posch to Predators for Chrona
The Colorado Avalanche traded forward Ross Colton, goaltender Isak Posch, and draft picks to the Nashville Predators in exchange for Swedish goaltender Magnus Chrona.

The Colorado Avalanche announced a trade with the Nashville Predators on Tuesday. Heading to Nashville are forward Ross Colton, goaltender Isak Posch, and the Avalanche's third-round picks in the 2026 and 2027 NHL Drafts. In return, Colorado received Swedish goaltender Magnus Chrona.
Colton, 29, recorded 24 points (9 goals, 15 assists) in 73 regular-season games last season and added five points (2+3) in 11 playoff contests. A former Stanley Cup champion with the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2021, Colton has 176 points (89+87) in 404 career NHL regular-season games and 28 points in 75 playoff games.
Posch has yet to make his NHL debut, while Chrona appeared in nine games during the 2023-24 season, posting a 2-6-0 record with an .891 save percentage and a 3.34 goals-against average.
This trade marks the first move for new Predators general manager Chris MacFarland, who took over earlier this month. MacFarland previously served as the Avalanche's GM for four seasons.
