Ayaneo's Pocket Micro 2: An Enhanced Game Boy Micro Remake
Ayaneo has unveiled the Pocket Micro 2, a modernized replica of the Game Boy Micro with a larger battery, improved controls, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Pricing starts at $239 early bird.

Handheld maker Ayaneo has officially revealed the Pocket Micro 2, the second generation of its modern Game Boy Micro remake first released in 2024. The company teased the horizontal device nearly two weeks ago and has now shared the full specs and pricing.
The Pocket Micro 2 starts at a retail price of $269, with early bird pricing available at $239 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage model. The higher-end variant with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage launches at $309, later rising to $339.
The handheld retains the 3.5-inch LCD display with 960x640 resolution. Key upgrades over the original Pocket Micro include a new Qualcomm Snapdragon chip, a larger 3,950mAh battery, a bigger D-pad, larger ABXY buttons, improved shoulder buttons, and recessed dual TMR joysticks designed to reduce drift.
Connectivity remains via USB-C, microSD, WiFi, and Bluetooth. A 3.5mm headphone jack has been added for retro authenticity. Color options are black, white, and purple.
Pre-orders opened yesterday in limited quantities and have already sold out. Ayaneo stated on Discord that it is discussing with suppliers about additional production but cannot guarantee it, depending on demand and minimum order quantities.
