Commander of 'Wolves of Da Vinci' Battalion Filimonov Receives Reprimand from Syrskyi; General Staff Provides Explanation
Serhii Filimonov, commander of the 108th separate assault battalion 'Wolves of Da Vinci', announced he received a reprimand from Commander-in-Chief General Oleksandr Syrskyi. The General Staff clarified that the disciplinary action was imposed in June over an incident involving battalion soldiers in Dnipropetrovsk region.

Serhii Filimonov, commander of the 108th separate assault battalion "Wolves of Da Vinci," announced on July 18 that he had received a reprimand from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Oleksandr Syrskyi. In a Telegram post, he simply stated: "Received a reprimand from Syrskyi. I serve the Ukrainian nation." This announcement followed a post from the previous day where he shared a slide from a press conference by former Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov listing the army's main problems.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine provided an explanation, stating that Filimonov was disciplined by order of the Commander-in-Chief on June 27. The penalty was imposed following an internal investigation that began in May. The investigation concerned illegal actions by soldiers of the battalion in the town of Shakhtarske, Dnipropetrovsk region. At that time, law enforcement detained three soldiers of the 108th separate assault battalion. They were suspected of illegal imprisonment (Article 146, Part 2 of the Criminal Code) and hooliganism (Article 296, Part 4 of the Criminal Code).
The General Staff noted that Major Serhii Filimonov violated several articles of the Disciplinary Statute and the Internal Service Statute of the Armed Forces. Disciplinary sanctions were also applied to other soldiers of the same unit.
This incident coincides with other events involving the battalion. On July 17, the battalion's medical service chief, Kyiv City Council deputy and public figure Alina Mykhailova, stated that she had received a phone call from the Command of the Unmanned Systems Forces inquiring about the current place of service of Dmytro Kozyatynskyi, who had called people to rallies against Fedorov's dismissal as defense minister. The commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces, Robert Brovdi (Madyar), reacted to Mykhailova's post, urging people "not to stir the pot just for the sake of stirring."
