Six Bauska region businesses among finalists for Latvia's Best Trader award
Today, the winners of Latvia's Best Trader competition will be announced, with six companies from the Bauska region reaching the finals.

The annual award ceremony for 'Latvia's Best Trader' is taking place today at the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development, organized by the Latvian Trade Association (LTA) and the Latvian Union of Local Governments. Minister Edgars Tavars is also expected to attend.
Experts used an anonymous shopper method to evaluate the entrants, selecting 19 winners, while other finalists will receive laureate titles. This year, regional participation has increased, particularly in Latgale and Selija. LTA highlighted businesses such as chef Ēriks Aļeksejevs from Dviete, 'Kafevego' in Pļaviņas, and production shops in Biķernieki near Daugavpils. Small stores like 'Veicies' in Sunākste, a village of 340 residents, were also praised.
According to Kristīne Dzidruma, head of the Bauska region Business and Competence Development Centre, six entrepreneurs from the region have been invited to the finals. In the category 'Charity shops, eco shops up to 100 sq m', the specialized flower and Latvian-made goods store 'I.dille' in Iecava, operated by SIA 'Vincis', is a finalist. The spice shop 'GAFŪ' in Bauska (SIA 'GAFŪ') is nominated under 'Small stores, gas stations, pharmacies, kiosks and e-shops'.
In catering, SIA 'Ribka's pizzeria 'Pie Martas un Marijas' in Vecumnieki competes in 'Catering up to 100 sq m', while SIA 'Hercogs XII' restaurant 'Tornis' in Bauska is in 'Catering over 100 sq m'. The guesthouse 'Dole' in Code parish, run by self-employed Jolanta Spundiņa, is a finalist for 'Guest houses, rural tourism objects'. The fitness club 'Mogo Fitness' in Bauska, owned by SIA 'NI', is nominated in 'Sports and recreation centers up to 500 sq m'.
Over the competition's 31-year history, more than 1,557 companies from across Latvia have received recognition in the finals.
