Australia maintained their unbeaten start in the Women's T20 World Cup with a dominant 98-run win over the Netherlands in Southampton. However, the victory was marred by an injury to opener Beth Mooney, who top-scored with 74 runs off 42 balls before retiring hurt.

Mooney pulled up after running two at the end of the 14th over and immediately left the field due to back stiffness. She did not return to keep wicket, and with emergency wicketkeeper Phoebe Litchfield also absent due to a quad injury, Georgia Voll took the gloves. The 22-year-old was quickly involved, taking a catch in the second over.

Australia posted 219-6, equalling the highest total in Women's T20 World Cup history, set earlier by England against Sri Lanka. Mooney and Voll started aggressively, bringing up 50 inside five overs. After losing both openers, Mooney combined with Ash Gardner, who returned from an ankle injury, for a 101-run third-wicket stand off 55 balls. Gardner made 58 off 32, while Georgia Wareham smashed 41 off 18 balls, including eight fours, to push the total beyond 200.

In reply, the Netherlands managed only 121-3, with captain Babette de Leede scoring an unbeaten 56 off 57 balls in her 100th T20I, and Sterre Kalis contributing 44. Kim Garth took two wickets in the powerplay to restrict the Dutch early, and the required rate was always out of reach.
