Belgium's NewSchool VC closes debut €10 million fund for B2B startups
Belgian venture capital fund NewSchool VC has reached its €10 million target for its first fund, which backs early-stage B2B technology companies. About 50 investors contributed, with founder Christophe Morbee personally funding a quarter of it.

Belgium-based venture capital firm NewSchool VC has closed its debut fund, hitting its €10 million target. The fund focuses on B2B technology companies at the pre-Seed stage.
The firm announced a first close of €6.1 million for NewSchool Fund I in September 2025. Around fifty investors are backing the fund, including six family offices — among them The Millers Office — along with entrepreneurs from the Belgian business scene, such as Willem Delbaere and Roeland Delrue of Aikido Security, Jean-Louis Van Houwe of Monizze, and Luc Coopman of Cobofisk. Founder Christophe Morbee personally contributed 25% of the fund's capital.
Morbee launched the fund in 2025 after years of working as an angel investor. He also serves as CEO of besox, a Belgian payroll and HR administration provider for small and medium-sized businesses. According to the fund's press release, besox's network of roughly 4,000 SME clients gives portfolio companies an opening to find early customers.
Investment focus
The solo-GP fund invests between €100,000 and €500,000 in B2B technology companies at the pre-Seed and Seed stages, targeting sectors including AI, SaaS, cybersecurity, robotics and compliance technology. It has made 32 investments so far, 75% of them in Belgium, with the rest spread across Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Switzerland, France and the United Kingdom.
Portfolio companies that have gone on to raise follow-on funding include Ravical, Warren, Spotable and Donna. The fund has recently invested in Swiss company Talentir and Paris-based Outline.
