Berlin Pride attacker pledges allegiance to Islamic State in video
Abdul Balut, the perpetrator of the Berlin Pride attack, has pledged allegiance to the Islamic State in a video statement.

German newspaper Bild reported on Tuesday that Abdul Balut, the attacker of the Berlin Pride parade, has released a video pledging loyalty to the Islamic State (IS). In the video, Balut is seen swearing allegiance to the terrorist group. The attack occurred during the 2024 Berlin Pride march, where Balut stabbed several participants with a knife. Initial reports indicated the attacker held radical Islamic views. This video confirms his connection to IS, although the group has not officially claimed responsibility. German security authorities continue their investigation to determine if Balut had accomplices. The attack resulted in one death and multiple injuries. This is the first time the attacker has publicly expressed support for terrorists since his arrest.
