Free open-source AI agent OpenClaw now available on Android and iOS
OpenClaw, the popular open-source AI agent, has launched as a mobile app on Android and iOS, enabling users to run agents from their pocket.

OpenClaw — the free, open-source AI agent that captivated the internet earlier this year — is now available as an app on iOS and Android. The announcement was made on X on Tuesday.
On both platforms, users can pair their phone with the OpenClaw Gateway, a routing layer that connects requests to AI agents and the tools and skills those agents use to get things done. This means users can run their OpenClaw agents from their pocket, and if programmed correctly, they can be quite helpful for various tasks.
OpenClaw users have applied it to everything from coding to meal planning, though some have reported less-than-ideal results. The agent went viral earlier this year with the launch of MoltBook, a social media site purportedly populated entirely by agents. In February, OpenClaw's creator, Peter Steinberger, announced he had joined OpenAI.
Later, researchers revealed that the MoltBook spectacle was partially the work of humans impersonating agents — effective theater that served as marketing for OpenClaw, whatever its credibility cost. Still, the stunt pointed toward an agentic future, which has since kept expanding. Agents are now embedded across the AI landscape and are showing up in more places by the day, including on your phone.
