Tickets for Liepāja Theatre's “Freimanis” sold out within minutes for January shows
Ticket sales for three January performances of the Liepāja Theatre production “Freimanis” opened at noon on 31 October and sold out within minutes. Social media users are sharing both joyful and disappointed stories.

Ticket sales for three January performances of “Freimanis,” a production of the Liepāja Theatre in Latvia, opened at 12:00 on 31 October, and the tickets were gone within minutes. This is according to social media posts cited by the newspaper Latvijas Avīze. The reaction points to strong demand for the show, whose tickets have sold out quickly before.
A matter of seconds
One social media user wrote that the tickets for all three January performances were sold out within two minutes. A woman said they were bought up within one minute, while another user claimed everything was gone in 40 seconds to a minute. He added that Google suddenly asked him to confirm his identity during the purchase, and by then the tickets had disappeared.
Winners and the disappointed
Some people did manage to get tickets. One woman said she and her friends had planned to go as a group of four but only secured three tickets, and she asked whether anyone had a spare ticket for 27 January. Another commenter obtained a single ticket although she had hoped to buy several.
Tickets could also be bought in person. One woman wrote that her mother had queued from 8:00, got ninth place in line and stood for an hour. Sales only began at 12:00, but her mother managed to go home to warm up and return to the queue.
Another user expressed confusion that a ticket suddenly appeared available after the tickets were said to be sold out, only to vanish again soon after.
Suggestions from buyers
One disappointed buyer suggested that people who have already seen the production could give others who have not yet managed to attend a chance. Some would-be spectators are still hoping that a ticket will reappear or that someone will have one to spare.
