Man Drives Forklift Drunk in Bilskas Parish; Police Report Multiple Traffic Incidents
In the past 24 hours, Vidzeme region recorded 81 events, including seven traffic accidents with two injured. Notably, a man in Bilskas parish was caught driving a forklift with a blood alcohol concentration of 1.55 per mille.

The State Police Vidzeme Regional Directorate registered 81 incidents over the past day, in which residents sought help or possible criminal offences were detected. A total of seven traffic accidents were recorded, two of which resulted in injuries to two persons. In the field of traffic supervision, 73 administrative decisions were made, including 43 for speeding.
Collision with Narrow-Gauge Train
On June 30 at 8:19 PM in Annas Parish, Alūksne Municipality, at the railway crossing “Umērnieki 2”, a man driving an Audi failed to stop at a stop sign, causing a collision with the locomotive of the narrow-gauge train “Bānītis”. No one was injured, and traffic was not blocked. Police documented the accident.
Pedestrian Hit in Madona
On June 30 at 9:56 AM in Madona, at the intersection of Raiņa Street and Valdemāra Boulevard, a man driving a Toyota hit a pedestrian. The injured person was taken to a medical facility.
Motorcycle Overturn in Zaubes Parish
On June 30 at 2:29 PM in Zaubes Parish, Cēsis Municipality, a motorcycle “Triumph Street Triple” overturned. The rider was injured and taken to a medical facility. Police completed an accident registration report.
