Cryptocurrency exchange Binance says that around 90% of the digital assets stolen in a hack on a major exchange have been replenished, according to a report by Sky News.

A cryptocurrency exchange is an online platform where users buy, sell and hold digital assets. When such a platform is breached, a large share of the funds held there can be affected, which is why restoring stolen assets matters to both the platform and its customers.

What is known

According to Binance, roughly nine-tenths of the stolen assets have been topped up again. That means most of the losses from the theft have been covered.

What the source does not say

The available report does not name the exchange that was hacked, say when the attack happened, give the total value of the stolen assets, or explain exactly how the funds were replenished. It is also unclear whether the remaining 10% or so will be recovered. Further details may emerge in later statements.
