The Children's Clinical University Hospital (BKUS) intends to expand its services by raising the age threshold for patients to 25 years. This was revealed by the hospital's board chairman, Valts Ābols, in an interview on Latvian Television's program "Rīta panorāma". Currently focused on children and adolescents, the hospital aims to provide continuous care for older youth as well. Ābols emphasized that the change would better meet patient needs and ensure a smooth transition from pediatric to adult care. A specific timeline for the implementation has not been set, but the hospital is committed to making this change in the foreseeable future.
