German automaker BMW has published fresh images of the M Concept Neue Klasse, previewing the anticipated electric M3. The photos show the new concept alongside the first-generation M3 (E30), honoring the legend that celebrates its 40th birthday this year.

The concept showcases BMW’s new M design language – a prominent front end with the signature "Sharknose" nose, yellow M lights, and sporty details inspired by motorsport. Under the skin lies a four-motor electric drivetrain with 800-volt technology and a battery exceeding 100 kWh, promising high performance for both daily driving and track use. The interior features the updated Panoramic Vision Display.

The manufacturer has confirmed two future M3 versions: one with an internal combustion engine based on the current M3 (G80), and a fully electric version built on i3 technology. German media estimate the production electric M3 will be about 80% similar to the concept, with a price around €80,000. The premiere is scheduled for 2027.

BMW also recalls the first-generation M3 (E30), which became an icon with its compact size and 200-hp four-cylinder engine. It originally cost 58,850 Deutsche Marks; today, well-preserved examples fetch at least that amount in euros, often reaching €80,000.
