Boox unveils three new E Ink devices, including upgraded Palma 3

Boox has introduced three new E Ink devices, all running Android 16 with the Google Play Store pre-installed.

An aluminum Palma 3

The headline release is the Palma 3, the latest version of the company's palm-sized ereader. Unlike previous plastic-cased models, it now features an anodized aluminum frame. Like the Palma 2 Pro before it, the Palma 3 supports the Boox InkSense Plus stylus for annotating books or taking notes that sync to the cloud. It has a 6.13-inch HD E Ink screen with dual-tone front lighting and 128GB of storage, expandable via microSD up to 2TB. Its 3,950mAh battery can last days of reading, though heavy use of the 16MP rear camera — which includes a flash and can scan documents — will drain it faster. The device also has dual microphones for voice memos and speech-to-text. The Palma 3 is listed on Boox's website but not yet available for purchase. When it launches, it will come in black or white for $320, which is $60 cheaper than the Palma 2 Pro. The stylus is sold separately for an additional $46.

Larger color devices for notes and work

Boox also revealed the 10.3-inch Note Air6 C, a color E Ink device designed for reading documents and taking notes on one screen, featuring a new Dual Notes function that lets users annotate two documents side by side. It supports the Boox Pen3 stylus and is offered with an optional keyboard cover connected via pogo pins. Pricing is $580 without the keyboard or $657 with it. The third device, the Note Mini C, targets people working on the go, with an 8.52-inch color E Ink screen, a fingerprint-enabled power button, a stylus, and access to enterprise apps like Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Slack and OneDrive. It's listed as "available soon" for $550.
