Weather Warning Issued for Thunderstorms and Heat in Latvia
The Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre and the State Fire and Rescue Service have issued warnings for thunderstorms in western and eastern regions and heat in Rīga on Sunday.
The Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre (LVĢMC) in cooperation with the State Fire and Rescue Service (VUGD) issued warnings on Sunday morning about adverse weather conditions. Thunderstorms with heavy rain and local hail are expected on Sunday morning and early afternoon in parts of western Latvia, with storm clouds also forming in the east later in the day. The thunderstorm warning is in effect from 7:10 AM to 9:00 PM.
Additionally, a heat warning has been issued for Rīga. In the afternoon, the air temperature in the capital may rise to +27°C. This warning is valid from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
Residents are advised to monitor weather developments and take safety precautions.
