From EdTech to "HumanOS": Brighteye Ventures secures €62.4 million in first close of third fund
Luxembourg-based VC firm Brighteye Ventures has closed the first round of its third fund at €62.4 million, broadening its focus from EdTech to technologies that expand human capability in the AI era.

Brighteye Ventures, a Luxembourg-based venture capital firm focused on European companies working in learning and work technology, has announced a €62.4 million first close of its third fund. The round brought in new backers including the Lumina Foundation, Italian publisher Zanichelli and PI Impact, joining existing investors such as the European Investment Fund and the Jacobs Foundation.
Founding Partner Ben Wirz said the defining opportunity of the AI era lies not in replacing humans with machines but in expanding what people can achieve alongside them. Brighteye was founded in 2017 by Wirz and Alex Spiro Latsis, initially concentrating on early-stage EdTech ventures across Europe and North America. Since then, the firm has backed more than 50 companies, which have together raised over €866 million in follow-on funding, with several now surpassing €86.6 million in annual revenue.
Expanding into "HumanOS"
With its third fund, Brighteye is moving beyond traditional EdTech toward what it terms "HumanOS" — technology designed to help people learn, work and adapt as AI reshapes daily life. The firm intends to back early-stage startups embedding AI into teaching and learning, building productivity platforms for high-stakes sectors such as healthcare and cybersecurity, and developing labour-market and talent software suited to a more volatile job landscape.
Following this first close, Brighteye's total assets under management reach €212.2 million. Eight investments from the new fund have already been made, including Swedish startup imagi, healthcare-focused NEX Health Intelligence, and Gyver, a marketplace connecting electricians with growing energy infrastructure demand. The firm noted that venture funding in its sector across Europe more than doubled over the past year, reaching €1.60 billion in 2025. Alongside the fund announcement, Brighteye also unveiled a rebrand and several internal promotions.
